ABOUT
Get to know Sophie
Sophie is a Registered Nurse with over nine years of experience providing mental health care to adults. She holds Bachelor's degrees in Nursing and Psychology from the Université de Montréal and a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She is currently completing the supervised clinical hours required for her psychotherapy permit with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ).
Throughout her career, she has supported individuals navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, trauma, relationship difficulties, and challenging life transitions. These experiences have shaped her belief that meaningful change begins within a trusting, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Her style is warm, genuine, and down-to-earth. She strives to create a space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves, explore their experiences without judgment, and develop a deeper understanding of the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Therapy is tailored to each person, balancing self-understanding and emotional exploration with practical tools that can be carried into everyday life.
Her approach is integrative and grounded in evidence-based practice, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches. She has also completed specialized training in Reconsolidation Therapy (Brunet Method) for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
At the heart of her work is the belief that therapy is not simply about overcoming difficulties, but about developing greater self-understanding, resilience, and the confidence to create meaningful and lasting change.
