ABOUT
Get to know Sarah
Sarah is a psychologist specializing in work with children, adolescents, and young adults. She earned her doctorate in psychology from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), where her research focused on access to mental health services among first- and second-generation immigrants in Canada.
Her clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including crisis intervention, school-based services (particularly within special education), and private practice, where she has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in both assessment and therapeutic contexts.
Her professional and personal experiences have led her to develop a deep sensitivity to the realities faced by racialized and marginalized individuals, and to the many ways social and cultural contexts shape one's relationship with oneself and others.
She believes that therapy is, above all, a human encounter. Her approach is grounded in compassionate curiosity, relational safety, and authentic collaboration. She works alongside each person at their own pace, honouring their lived experience, history, and identity to foster greater self-understanding and a stronger sense of agency.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing primarily from cognitive-behavioural and humanistic frameworks. It seeks to understand thoughts, emotions, and behaviours within their broader context while placing strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and personal growth.
When appropriate, she also incorporates complementary approaches such as play therapy and parent coaching, so that care is tailored to the unique needs and realities of each young person and their family.
