Community Services
Community psychology services support organizations, schools, and community groups in strengthening their programs, practices, and well-being initiatives. These services focus on understanding the needs of the populations served, evaluating and improving programs, enhancing staff capacity, and creating systems that promote meaningful, sustainable change.
Initial Consultation (Community/Organization)
Intake session to understand the organization’s goals, identify key stakeholders, and outline the scope of the evaluation. This consultation also helps clarify the presenting issues, desired outcomes, service needs, and logistical considerations (timelines, data sources, decision-making processes). At the end of the meeting, we confirm next steps and determine which assessment, evaluation, or intervention is most appropriate for the organization’s needs.
Program Evaluation Services
Based on the Initial Consultation, organizations may be recommended or may choose to proceed with a Needs Assessment. A Needs Assessment is a systematic process used to understand a community or organization’s current challenges, strengths, and unmet needs. It identifies gaps between the existing situation and desired outcomes, helping determine where resources, services, or programs may be most impactful. This evaluation focuses on gathering diverse perspectives through methods such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups. It highlights community priorities, existing assets, and areas for improvement, providing a data-driven foundation for creating, planning or refining programs, allocating resources, and guiding strategic decision-making.
Program Design (Assessment)
Depending on the results of the Initial Consultation, organizations may be recommended or may choose to proceed with a Program Design Evaluation. This evaluation examines how a program is structured and whether its activities, resources, and theoretical foundations logically support its intended goals. It analyzes the program’s logic model or theory of change to clarify the pathways through which desired outcomes are expected to occur. The process may involve reviewing program materials, consulting with staff, and mapping key components such as inputs, activities, outputs, and anticipated impacts. The goal is to strengthen internal coherence, ensure the program is grounded in evidence-informed principles, and improve its ability to produce meaningful and measurable results.
Implementation Assessment
This assessment examines how the program is being delivered in practice and whether implementation aligns with the planned design. It focuses on understanding day-to-day processes, program fidelity, participant engagement, and the operational factors that support or hinder effective delivery. Data collection may include staff interviews, observation of program activities, review of administrative systems, and feedback from participants. The goal is to identify strengths, barriers, and opportunities to improve program implementation, ensuring that delivery processes maximize the program’s potential impact.
Program Design (Intervention)
This service involves developing a detailed, evidence-informed intervention strategy to address the needs and priorities identified during the evaluation process. The design outlines clear action steps, recommended approaches, timelines, and required resources to support effective program improvement or development. The process may include creating new program components, refining existing practices, integrating best-practice models, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The goal is to provide a structured, practical roadmap that guides the organization in implementing meaningful and sustainable changes. This service is available ONLY after a program evaluation has been completed, whether conducted at Kaïa or by an external evaluator. It involves developing a detailed, evidence-informed intervention strategy based on the needs, priorities, and recommendations identified during the evaluation process. The intervention design translates evaluation findings into clear action steps, recommended approaches, timelines, and required resources to guide effective program improvement or new program development.
Implementation Support
This service offers hands-on guidance as the organization puts recommended changes into practice. Support may include coordinating with teams, adjusting processes, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and helping troubleshoot challenges that arise during implementation. Assistance is tailored to the organization’s needs and delivered over several days or weeks. The goal is to ensure that changes are implemented smoothly, consistently, and effectively, strengthening program operations and maximizing the potential for positive outcomes.
Ongoing Monitoring and Evaluation
This service provides regular follow-up sessions to track progress after program changes or new interventions have been implemented. Each session focuses on reviewing key indicators, assessing the effectiveness of ongoing activities, identifying emerging challenges, and making data-informed adjustments to strengthen program performance. Monitoring may include reviewing participant feedback, analyzing early outcome data, and supporting continuous improvement efforts within the organization. Sessions are accompanied by concise feedback reports that summarize findings, recommendations, and next steps. The goal is to ensure that programs remain responsive, effective, and aligned with evolving organizational and community needs.
