Chantal Belhumeur
Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor
Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor with over 25 years of experience, grounded in the belief that professional experience gains meaning when it is shared. Trained in educational adaptation at the Université de Sherbrooke and in psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal, she also holds a doctorate in psychology and a teaching certificate in special education. Her career has led her to work across university, school, and clinical settings with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
For more than twenty years, she served as a supervising psychologist at the UQAM Psychological Services Centre and within the DESS DI/ASD program, contributing to the training and supervision of future clinicians. Having retired from her institutional roles in April 2025, she now continues her work as a Clinical Supervisor at Kaïa, alongside private practice, supporting psychologists at early and mid-career stages.
Her supervisory practice is integrative, informed by cognitive-behavioural, systemic, and humanistic approaches. She places particular importance on the supervisory relationship, respect for each clinician’s pace, and guidance rooted in real clinical contexts. She is known for bringing clarity to complex situations and for supporting reflective, ethical, and grounded clinical practice.
